Life on the road
A collection of clips dfrom my recent bicycle tour. Over ten months I cycled 6500miles from England to Iran and back again. My route East follow the fabled EuroVelo 6 route (the Danube). Then I crossed Turkey and entered Iran. After a de-tour to Georgia I headed South to Syria. Due to a drying up of funds I took a three day ferry too Venice and cycled back through Italy and France. In May 2011 I arrived back in England.
The idea of this trip was to strip away some of the “baggage” that comes with modern living. It is without a doubt the best decision I’ve ever made. By the standards of many it could not be considered an extreme expedition. That said, I feel it was a successful venture in that it allowed me to step out of my comfortable lifestyle. I now appreciate all those things that, pre-trip, I had taken for granted.
